"Notes about Anna Akhmatova" Lydia Chukovskaya - not only the best documentary and memoir work on the great Russian poet, but also one of the most important literary documents of the era. Having met with Anna Andreevna in the line at the gates of the Leningrad prison in 1938, Lidia Korneevna kept diary notes for several decades, which later compiled three books. These are not memories, namely a diary, records for yourself, according to a living trace of events. The signs of the Akhmatov personality, the circle of her friends, the nature of literary interests clearly appear in them. The first book is the terrible years of Ezhovschina. In prison, the husband of Lydia Chukovskaya was shot, the son of Anna Akhmatova is waiting for the verdict. Just in these years, Akhmatova creates his “Requiem ": he writes poetry on the scraps of paper, gives them to Chukovskaya - to remember - and instantly burns. Following the Ezhovschina - war, evacuation to Tashkent. The second book is the post -war years, the difficult life of Akhmatova after a devastating decree of 1946, her attempts to achieve the liberation of the newly arrested son, her poems, her well -aimed and concise judgments about literature, about time, about Russian history. Anna Akhmatova’s attempts to print the Requiem and the Poem without a Hero are not able to attempt. Lidia Chukovskaya fails, trying to publish her story "Sofya Petrovna".
