Academician Nikolai Antonovich Dolleyal (1899–2000) was one of those who in the post -war years successfully implemented the Soviet nuclear project, thereby reliably ensuring the security of our country. He later designed the energy atomic reactor for the world"s first nuclear power plant in Obninsk and the reactor of the first nuclear submarine (atomic submarine), created and 34 years headed by the Special Institute (now NikaT), which creates nuclear reactors. He was twice the Hero of Socialist Labor, the laureate of the three Stalinist, Leninist and two state prizes. The name and scientific achievements of N. A. Dolley, who has worked in strict secrecy for many years, are still little known to the general public. This gap is filled with his first full -fledged biography, which, based on archival documents and memories, covers the more than centenary life of a scientist, which has hosted many dramatic events of our history
