In the fall of 1918, in the Moscow publishing house, founded by representatives of the Siberian merchant family by the brothers Mikhail and Sergey Sabashnikov, the most famous book by M. A. Polyevktov "Nicholas I" was published. Before the forced departure of M. A. Polievktov in Tiflis (since 1936 - Tbilisi) there were two years. But it was this book that summed up the results of the St. Petersburg period of the historian. After its exit, a historian, which plunged into the socio-political life of the country and archival construction, before leaving for Georgia, did not publish anything but a few politically topical articles and brochures. Biographer M. A. Polievktova Yu. S. Sulaberidze noted: "... in the life of M. A. Polievktov there were two periods: Petersburg and Tbilisi", and having spent many years in Georgia, he called himself an "old Petersburger"
