The book publishes the correspondence of academicians V.V. Bartold, N.Ya. Marra and S.F. Oldenburg - leading Russian orientalists of the late XIX - the first third of the twentieth century (total 186 letters), which largely determined the development of Russian humanitarian science and culture. These letters from the Assembly of the St. Petersburg branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as documents from the State Archive of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), which are included in the introductory article, highlight the development of humanitarian science in Russia, and the activities of V.
