Here is the book My Olympians. It has stories about the champions and winners of the Olympic Games until 1912. These are both Russians and foreigners. Perennial searches in the archives, meetings with the descendants of Russian Olympians who won the olympiad medals, requests at the International Olympic Committee and work in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne ... All this allowed the author, sports historian, candidate of pedagogical sciences Elena Dolgopolova to find new facts of biographies of athletes, to tell about their life before and after the events of 1917. Sometimes difficult, unhappy, sometimes tragic.
Perhaps we have never been told about our first Olympians with such frankness. It seemed about the life of the first Olympic champion of Nikolai Panin-Kolomenkin in the history of Russia. But the author supplements her with completely unknown events, cites never published personal correspondence. And the biography of Panin appears in a new light.
