The figure of Mikhail Alekseevich Leontyev is interesting not only by the fact that the author of the old nobleman, an enlightened provincial landowner and participant in military campaigns of the early 19th century, but also because he is a man from the circle of A.T. Bolotov (was the husband of his granddaughter) Leontyev’s notes are designed in an old -fashioned style, but they are read easily and entertaining, resembling a diary genre. Everything is intertwined here: orphans with living parents, the occupation of Finland in 1808, public moods and, of course, life with its unique color, engagement, weddings and loss of loved ones.
