In the history of wars, there are very few cases when a military operation is called not at the venue, but by the name of the commander. Brusilovsky breakthrough is one of these exceptions. It was precisely as the “author” of the successful advance of the Russian army in the summer of 1916 that the general from the cavalry, the hero of the First World War, Alexei Alekseevich Brusilov (1853-1926), went down in history.
Brusilov’s book, an outstanding commander, characterized by great personal courage, is not only the memories of a military specialist.
