Obolensky Vladimir Andreevich, prince (1869-1950) - a social and politician, one of the bright representatives of the Cadet Party, entered the "Union of Liberation". He took a prominent position in the Constitutional Democratic Party, was elected deputy of the 1st State Duma from the Tauride province. In this publication, for the first time, Obolensky’s memoirs were published, written in 1937 for the Russian Historical Archive in Prague, and now stored in the State Archive of the Russian Federation. In his memoirs, the prince gives interesting details from the life of socialist circles, political emigration of the early XX century, zemstvo, the party of cadets, the 1st State Duma, the White Movement. The author presents a whole gallery of public and political figures of the era: F.F. Kokoshkin, P.N. Milyukov, S.A. Muromtsev, V.D. Nabokov, I.I. Petrunkevich, F.I. Rodichev, P.B. Struve and many others. The distinctive features of Obolensky are colorful sketches, household details, detailed portraits of contemporaries.
