My grandpa

The book of Galina Grigoryevna Kostenko is a collection of short stories about childhood in the post -war Makhachkala. We see the world through the eyes of a little girl, restless, mischievous and asking many questions to adults who do not particularly try to answer them.
"For a long time I wanted to write a book about my grandfather Ivan Grigoryevich. About my childhood spent with him, only eight years. I might not have known him if he had not called my mother Ulyana Ivanovna in Makhachkala. These were my happy years of childhood in the difficult post -war years. They were heavy for my mother, who a year earlier before my birth buried her son Gennady. I might not have been in the world if the doctors saved him. But I am. I am late. I finish the past generation.
I want my sons, grandchildren and future great -grandchildren to know about the generation in which my childhood passed. I hope readers will like my stories. "
