The author of this book is the great -grandson of Alexei Maksimovich Gorky and the grandson of Lavrenty Pavlovich Beria. Both his great -grandfather and his grandfather went into another world before his birth, but he grew up in this large family, which to this day arouses great interest among journalists, writers, filmmakers. His childhood passed in Moscow in the Shekhtel mansion at the Nikitsky Gate, where Gorky once lived and where his museum is now located, where many of the most important events took place, which still care about those who are interested in our past. Not only life, but also the death of his great -grandfather - the plot of adventurous novels and adventure films. In the 30s, the “guilty” in the death of Gorky was put on a bench of the defendants and sentenced to death. Why did he decide to write this book? Because now, when his parents are not alive, he considered it his duty to tell everything that he knew about his family, which was by the will of fate at the epicenter of many dramas and tragedies of the twentieth century
