The book of Matvey Geiser is evidence of the recognition of the significance of the outstanding actor of a talented director and prominent public figure Solomon Mikhoels. The State Jewish Theater, at the origins of which stood Mikhoels and to whom he led more than thirty years, became a symbol of the heyday of Jewish culture in the USSR. This first theater arose in the centuries -old history of Jews shortly after the Great October Socialist Revolution and lasted until the end of 1949, but the trace left by him in multinational Soviet culture is also significant today
