The book of Alexander Hort is devoted to the life and work of the famous director, public figure, professor of VGIK Mikhail Ilyich Romm.
The same age of the century, Romm was a participant in such important events of the Soviet era as revolution, civil war, five -year plan, a large terror, the Great Patriotic War, the struggle for peace, a thaw. Mikhail Ilyich was always in advanced positions: he worked in the state department for the production of films, was one of the initiators of the creation of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR, headed creative associations at Mosfilm, and taught at VGIK.
