Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev lived a long and very rich life.
At the age of 18, he built his first aircraft - the ABF -10 glider, which, as one of the best glider, was awarded to all -Union competitions. Already on May 12, 1927, the first plane of A. Yakovlev -Air -1, the first plane of the structure of A. Yakovlev, rose into the air. This date is considered the birthday of the OKB, which A.S. Yakovlev fruitfully led to retirement in 1984.
During this period, more than 200 types and modifications of aircraft were created, and 70 thousand aircraft of the Yak brand were built in serial factories, more than that of any of the design bureaus of the USSR.
In 1940-1946 Alexander Yakovlev, simultaneously with the construction of aircraft, worked as a deputy commissar (since 1946 of the Minister) of the aviation industry.
Having occupied high posts, Alexander Sergeyevich often met with leading Soviet and foreign aircraft designers, political leaders, participated in the development and adoption of fateful decisions.
