The memoirs of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (1876-1938), the cousin of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, is a detailed story of one of the few members of the imperial house that survived during the Red Terror of the High Courtyard, about the foreign and domestic policy of the Russian Empire of the end of the nineteenth - The beginning of the twentieth century. Kirill Vladimirovich did not have time to finish the work on the memories: the narrative breaks off at the time of the Grand Duke with his family abroad in 1917. During a long life in exile, Kirill Vladimirovich actively participated in the activities of monarchical organizations, and in 1924 he proclaimed himself the emperor of All -Russian Emperor Cyril I, the guardian of the Russian throne, which caused a hot protest of a part of the imperial family. All these events are reflected in numerous unique documents given in the application to the book
