Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich (1866-1933) is the grandson of Emperor Nicholas I, a cousin and a childhood friend of Nicholas II, the husband of his sister Ksenia Alexandrovna. In his memoirs, Alexander Mikhailovich colorfully describes the life of a large family of the Romanovs and its individual representatives, talks about traveling to Brazil, Japan, India and other countries, many pages are devoted to his contribution to the development of the Russian Imperial Fleet and participation in the creation of Russian military aviation.
