Baron Alexander Egorovich Wrangel (1833-1915) - Russian diplomat, chamberlain. The eldest son in the family of Baron Yegor Ermolaevich Wrangel and Baroness Daria Aleksandrovna, nee Raush von Traubenberg, who was a second cousin A. S. Pushkin along the Gannibalov line. Pyotr Nikolaevich Wrangel was his nephew. In 1853 he graduated from the Imperial Alexander Lyceum and entered the service of the Ministry of Justice, and he refused his career in the capital and went voluntarily to the position of consumer and civil cases in Semipalatinsk. Here he met with F. M. Dostoevsky, who was in exile, helped him with money, was busy with the assignment of an officer rank and permission to return to Central Russia, and later wrote memories of Dostoevsky’s stay in Siberia.
