The works of the Marquis de Sad have always been perceived ambiguously, causing readers the horror or admiration, his compositions made a dizzying take -off from the volumes read fuel to solid academic publications. The XVIII century considered him an obscene writer, the author of vile pornographic novels called the "standard of ugliness", the 19th century condescendingly attributed his works to the field of literary curios, but the age of XX, radically changed his attitude to the marquis, gave him a worthy place in the literature of the Enlightenment.
