Army General Vasily Filippovich Margelov (1909 - 1990) - perhaps the most famous Soviet poster military leader. He commanded the most heroic troops - airborne. He armed them with the most modern weapons, conducted a number of brilliant operations with his "eagles", after which the glory of the most mobile and daring troops was firmly entrenched in the Airborne Forces, capable of fulfilling tasks that only by them. Margelov’s words: “Nobody except us” became the motto of the Airborne Forces, where the name of the paratrooper No. 1 is still surrounded by legends. The famous military writer Sergei Michenkov talks in detail and soulfully about the life of General Margelov, where the Polish campaign, the Soviet-Finnish war, the Great Patriotic War, the special missions of the Airborne Forces in Hungary and Czechoslovakia are inscribed.
