There was no punk without the Sex Pistols group. And without Steve Jones, there would be no Sex pistols. It was Steve, who, along with his school friend Paul Cook, who made a group, which ultimately became known as Sex Pistols, and was the leader of this team.
The modern "Dickensky" story of Steve begins on the streets of West London, where he, being a lonely street boy, lived for dubious expenses, engaged in petty theft and hooliganism. Hearing Glam art rock David Bowie and Roxy Music, Steve caught fire to the idea of becoming a musician. He was one of the first punk-assholes, finding himself under the wing of Malcolm McLaren and Vivien Westwood.
The book was written in simple language, but despite the confidential-spring manner of the narrative, one cannot help but feel that the deep mental children"s wounds of Steve did not drag out. He sadly talks about the fact that his childhood passed without his own father, and had to endure home violence from his stepfather. Carried away at a young age with music and fashion, Steve, in fact, saved himself from eternal life behind bars.
A considerable part of the book is devoted to the story of Sex Pistols from Steve. This group recorded only one album, lasted about three years and fell apart in an absurd way, leaving behind an immortal musical and cultural heritage
