The book is a gallery of historical portraits of various Little Russian figures, as well as natives of Little Russia who became famous beyond its borders. Some of these figures of the past are almost unknown to the general public. Others, on the contrary, are well known, but are shown in the book from the unexpected side. Contrary to the thesis that has become popular recently about the unsuitability of black and white dimension of historical characters, the author shows that there are in the history of personality, who has painted themselves in unambiguously black or unambiguously white colors.
