Julian apostate (332–363)-Roman emperor Julian, ruled from 361 to 363, philosopher-neoplatonik, writer. In history, he is known as the apostate (Greek apostat), that was the name of him by Christians. He devoted his life to the revival of the pagan cults, which he understood as the center of ancient culture. Supported by part of the Roman society, he openly declared himself a supporter of the pagan religion, made an attempt to reform it on the basis of neoplatonism and mitraism.
