The book of G.F. Tokarev is so unusual that it makes no sense to retell it. There was a prose "general", there was a "soldier"s". Different writers argued on this occasion - from Konstantin Simonov to Viktor Astafyev! But, as a rule, professionals argued, and the raid of professionalism - artificial origin - freely or involuntarily laid down on their works. And Gennady Fedorovich is not a professional, not a writer.
