Love is a state of altered consciousness. Each person who has experienced this feeling understands how it intoxicates, torments, captures, inspires, allows you to survive the minutes of the highest delight, plunges to the very bottom of despair. What can we say about the love of the poet, who already lives on the verge of two realities, in other words, is not quite normal? The intensity of the feeling is re -melted into the poetic lines of incredible power, experienced suffering and pleasure become material for creativity, powerfully affect the entire system of personality, on worldview, re -forming a picture of the world. This can be compared only with large -scale natural cataclysms, when at the site of the catastrophic faults of the earth"s crust, mountain massifs unknown to the heaven suddenly grow to heaven - as if air ruins with the magic of the created chambers.
The structure of this book is not quite common. It includes sixteen love stories from the life of the great Russian poets - from Vasily Zhukovsky and Alexander Pushkin to Joseph Brodsky and Gennady Shpalikov. Not about the "endless happiness" of love is told here, but about her "flour stinging", not about the embodied hopes and harmony of blissful calm, but about the painful duality of the poetic spirit and its catastrophic insaturation - love walks hand in hand with betrayal, treason and inner non -frequency ...
