Ghibli is the legendary Japanese animation studio, the birthplace of such anime as the Princess Monocknya, "Ghosts" and the Walking Castle", which during the life of their creator - the great Hayao Miyazaki - became the classic of animated cinema.
But what happens inside the studio? How are films created? And most importantly, who helps them find world fame? Steve Alpert is a person who has answers.
For 15 years, Steve Alpert was the senior executive director of Ghibli. The only Gijin (foreigner) in a "very traditional" Japanese company, Alpert was responsible for international sales and worked closely with Miyazaki and Tosio Suzuki, the producer of almost all the studio films.
Alpert received the "Golden Bear" at the Berlin Film Festival and was a witness to the Triumph at the Oscar. It can be safely called a person responsible for the world success of Hayao Miyazaki and Ghibli studio
