The book that is proposed to the reader is one of the most outstanding monuments of Russian memoir literature. In the stories of the Moscow noblewoman E.P. Yankova (1768-1861), recorded by her grandson D. D. Bornovo, the diverse scenes of the private life of the Old Mosque family and her surroundings, which became a kind of encyclopedia of this life, were deployed.
