Reprint from the publication. Paris, 1930. Pavel Pavlovich Zavarzin (1868 - 1932) - Russian gendarme officer, major general of a separate gendarmes corps. Zavarzin was born in the family of the nobles of the Kherson province. In 1888, in the rank of second lieutenant, he entered the service in the 16th Rifle of His Majesty the battalion, served there for 10 years. In 1898, in the rank of lieutenant, he moved to the service in a separate building of the gendarmes. He held the positions: 1898 - adjutant of the Bessarabian provincial gendarme administration, 1899 - adjutant of the Tauride provincial gendarme administration, 1900 - assistant to the head of the Dolichsk branch of the Kyiv Gendarme Directorate of the Railway, 1901 - head of the Lubensky branch of the Moscow -Kiev Gener Directorate of Railways, 1903 - seconded to the Bessarabian provincial gendarme management, 1904 - assistant to the head of the Mogilev Provincial Gendarme Office in the Gomel district, 1904 - in reserve under the gendarme administration of Odessa, 1905 - in the reserve under the Don Regional Gendarme Administration, 1906 - head - head - head Branches for Public Safety and Order in Warsaw, 1909 - Head of the Department for Public Security and Order Protecting in Moscow, 1912 - Head of the Gendarme Directorate of Odessa, in 1916-1917 - Head of the Warsaw Provincial Gendarme control. In 1916 he was invited to St. Petersburg and entered the police department. In October of the same year, he inspected the gendarme units of Siberia and the Far East. During the revolution of February 1917, he was in Petrograd. Zavarzin was arrested by the Extraordinary Investigative Commission. A little over a month he was in custody and soon was able to leave Russia. In exile lived in France. He was buried in the Cemetery of Saint-Genevieve de Bois.
