The first edition of the book was published more than ten years ago. This publication was processed and supplemented by the author. A number of facts and dates have been clarified, a new chapter about the "legal" super-explorer-illegal Georges Kovale has been added.
The book tells about wonderful Soviet intelligence officers, who, risking their lives, performed complex tasks in the enemy’s lair and contributed to the struggle against fascism and extremism. We are talking about the legendary representatives of the formidable and heroic twentieth century: I. Gigulevich, N. Skoblin, A. Botyan, D. Smolotov, L. Trepper, 3. Voskresenskaya-Rykina, A. Kozlov, about the legendary "grandfather of Russian special forces" I. Starinov and others.
An important place in the book is given "atomic problems". Soviet foreign intelligence managed to get the most valuable documentary materials from the archisective nuclear laboratory in Los Alamos and thus deprive the United States monopoly in this area.
Retired Colonel N. Shvarkov worked for many years in the foreign intelligence system of Russia.
