This study is the first monograph by the life and work of Baron B. A. Fitingof-Schel. Russian composer, music critic, author of a number of operas and ballets, which successfully went on imperial scenes, as well as over 80 works of church, chamber-vocal and chamber-instrumental music, 70 romances in Russian, French, Italian.
The book is based on archival-chief documents that are first introduced into scientific circulation. The study can be used as additional material to study the memoirs of B.A. Fitingof-Schel “World Celebrities”, as well as his “Auto-Graphs Album”.
The presented sources reveal previously unknown pages of the history of Russian music. The monograph is intended for professionals, historians of the musical and theater life of the XIX century and a wide circle of readers
