The book is dedicated to one of the heads of state security organs of the USSR, Lieutenant General E.P. Pitovranov, who was called up for the Chekist service from the final course of MITA (Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers) during the end of the Yezhov repression.
at the age of 28, having received the title of general and leading the regional department of the NKVD, later he headed the counterintelligence of the USSR. He participated in complex operations to combat the German agent during the Great Patriotic War and the nationalist underground after it, often risking life. The book reveals some details of the activities of the "company".
The author gives answers to numerous questions: why did he become the favorite of Stalin and in connection with which he ended up in 1951 in the cell of suicide bombers? Why was he justified and appointed after liberation by the head of foreign intelligence of the Soviet Union? Why was it fired at the age of 50 from the KGB? What was hidden over many years of friendship with the chairman of the KGB of the USSR Yuri Andropov? Why did he become an idol in Chekist groups and won the minds and hearts of different generations of operatives with his authority?
