The publication is dedicated to the artist Tamara Aramovna Makovskaya (1912–1941).
The main part of the book is the memoirs of her son, the famous lawyer Alexander Lvovich Makovsky (1930–2020) about his mother. Some chapters were compiled after the death of Alexander Lvovich by his daughter Alexandra. The applications publish letters and documents from the family archive of Makovsky.
Illustrations were the preserved work of Tamara Arammarovna - sketches of costumes for theatrical productions, “street types”, drawings for the editions of Roman A. N. Tolstoy “Peter the Great”, the poems of M. Yu. Lermontov “Tambov Treasury”, etc. As well as photographs from the archive of relatives-descendants of Aramyants and Montvizh-Montvites
