The "fatal shot" of Vladimir Mayakovsky ended the poet’s physical life and gave rise to a huge phenomenon - the myth of Mayakovsky’s death. The myth developed according to the laws of literature, both memoir and artistic, until the moment when I.V. Stalin, who called Mayakovsky the best and talented poet of our Soviet era. Since that time, "neglect of his memory" has become a crime. People close to the poet, who managed to speak about the tragedy before Stalin, either fell silent, or brought their words into line with the "line of the party". And those who spoke out after Stalin could no longer speak in full voice. The death of Stalin led to the emergence of a new myth about the murder of the poet around the Briks. In recent decades, ideas about the secret murderers of Mayakovsky, a fake of his dying letter, etc. All this ended with the publication of the real investigative case of the poet’s suicide, when professional forensic experts joined the case.
