Memoirs of General A.S. Lukomsky cover his entire life path from entering the military gymnasium to the end of the civil war. The memoirs of Lukomsky, who, by the beginning of the First World War, have the highest staff positions in the army, contain invaluable information about the events of the revolutionary fever, the origin of the volunteer army and evacuation from Novorossiysk. In its memoirs, Lukomsky concerns not only military issues, quite a lot of space is given to domestic descriptions, especially hunting, as well as the characterization of individuals of the Russian army and prominent representatives of the white movement. The essay included in this publication about a trip to the Far East is published for the first time. This part of the memoirs contains many curious information about Japan and China of the first third of the twentieth century
