The book introduces readers to the main milestones of the biography of Ekaterina Alekseevna Furtseva (1910 - 1974), probably the most successful woman in the era of socialism. She lived her not very long life with her country, making a fantastic party career: from a Komsomol member to a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the sovereign mistress of the city of Moscow in a difficult period, when the country was at a crossroads after the death of the many-year leader Joseph Stalin.
In the latest history of our country, Ekaterina Alekseevna remained the leader of Soviet culture in the 1960s, which is commonly called the thaw. Sometimes they add - Khrushchevskaya. However, the bright and rapid, albeit short -lived flourishing of literature, music, theater, and fine art, carried out by the generation of the sixties, became largely possible thanks to the wisdom and courage of the Minister of Culture Furtseva, who skillfully conducted his wards through the reefs of communist ideology.
