Polovtsov Pyotr Aleksandrovich - son of the Secretary of State A.A. Polovtsova. In February 1917, being on vacation in Petrograd, he took an active part in revolutionary events. It is included in the Military Commission of the Provisional Government. In April 1917, he returned to the front, promoted to Major General and in May 1917 was appointed commander in chief of the Petrograd Military District. He led the suppression of the July performance of the Bolsheviks. In July 1917 he was removed from his post and appointed Minister of Minister. In September 1917 he was appointed commander of the Caucasian native horse corps. In October 1917, he was appointed military governor of the Terek region and the commander in it for troops.
