By the 150th anniversary of the great Russian theater and artistic figure Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev (1872-1929), the capital work of the famous dancer, known throughout the world of choreographer and researcher of ballet theater Sergei Mikhailovich Lifar (1905-1986), is published. The book consists of two parts.
The first - "Diaghilev" is a fascinating biography of the great reformer of Russian art - the inspirer and organizer of the creative association and the magazine "World of Art", art exhibitions and concerts of Russian music, the creator of the Russian Ballet Entreprise in 1909-1929.
The second part - "with Diaghilev" - these are frank and deep memories of the lifar about their personal relations that have lasted since 1923 (when the young dancer joined his troupe) until the last day of Diaghilev’s life
