In modern mass culture, his name is firmly connected with the image of a bloodsucker-vampire, while in Romania he is glorified as a folk hero, a fighter for the country"s independence. Many legends and few documentary evidence has been preserved about Dracula, which, however, allowing, however, to recreate the biography of this extraordinary ruler who lived at the breakdown of the eras, at the turn of the confrontation of the strongest powers of his time - the Ottoman and sacred Roman Empires, Hungary, Poland.
