Nikolai Alexandrovich Bernstein (1896-1966) is the creator of the theory of "constructing movements" in humans, the founder of the physiology of activity. In his homeland in Russia, he is known much less than abroad. The book, compiled by his scientific "granddaughter" by Vera Talis, is designed to rectify the situation: it contains memories of this largest scientist and unusual person - a loyal to science, polyglot and music love, distinguished by kindness and at the same time detachment, immersion in his own world.
