A collective monograph covers the various stages of development of the department of the new and recent history of the History Faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. The features of the formation of research areas and country specialization within the framework of the department are revealed. The monograph presents biographies of outstanding scientists and teachers who worked at the department on an ongoing basis, many of whom have become the founders of scientific schools currently existing. The complement to the research part of the work was the memories of some famous graduates of the department who achieved significant success in various fields of our lives
