The book is dedicated to the life and activities of the founder of the industrial dynasty of Nikita Demidov, who laid the foundation of the Great Mountain Empire, his sons, in whom it reached the greatest prosperity, and grandchildren in whom it broke up. The biographies of most heroes are first set out with such a degree of completeness and accuracy. The author, doctor of historical sciences, emphasizing the importance of the creative activities of the Demidovs, at the same time far from both pan -nuclear praises and from the image of heroes with bloody villains. Widely using documentary (including the first -handed sources), talks about events covering an almost centenary period, about the relations of the Demidovs with the authorities (including with Peter the Great), about the contribution of representatives of the family to the development of the Russian state.
