Rolan Bykov (1929–1998) - theater and film director, actor, teacher. He has eleven films (“Aibolit - 66”, “Telegram”, “Car, Violin and Dog Klyaks”, “Scarecrow”, etc), Hundreds of roles in the cinema, the creation of the Foundation of Children"s Cinema and Television and an attempt to revive children"s cinema in Russia nineties.
The diaries of Rolan Bykov “I beat - I"ll start first!”, published in 2010, became a bestseller. The book Come on, come on, sons! (So the commander of the partisan detachment of Lokotkov shouted in the film “Checking on the Roads”) was their logical continuation. It included texts about the theater and cinema, letters to directors, colleagues-actors and writers, memories of working with Andrei Tarkovsky, Nonny Mordyukova, Mikhail Romm and many, many others.
The texts are collected and commented on by the widow of R.A. Bykova Elena Sanaeva
