The book is devoted to the history of the relationship between Ivan Bunin with Russian-Jewish intellectuals. This topic has now remained outside the field of view of the Buninovs. Meanwhile, the circle of Bunin’s communication, like no other emigrant writers, was saturated with Jews - friends, close acquaintances, assistants and patrons. During the war, Bunin covered the Jews saved from the Nazi terror in his house. All these circumstances seem interesting not only in themselves-like everything unusual, emerging from the ordinary in biographies of outstanding personalities, but also in a wide cultural and historical context of Russian-Jewish relations. Documentary confirmation of this point of view is the book presented by the reader, in which, in addition to materials regarding the directly declared topic, systematized information about the reception of the writer"s image of his contemporaries is given
