The fictionalized memoirs of Pavel Grigoryevich Ovcharenko (1919-1995) “Bitterness” - a rare example of a testimony of a man who came from the social lower classes of Soviet society. Arrested in 1941 by the Red Navy of the Amur River Flotilla, convicted under the political article 58-10, the author in an incomplete eight years has gone from Khabarovsk through camps in the Kemerovo region to Chukotka. A unique feature of the book is the ten plans of the camps compiled by him from memory.
In the applications, Ovcharenko’s memoirs about his childhood, fragments of archival documents for the period preceding his arrest, and documents from his investigative case were published.
When preparing the publication, the features of a genuine typewritten copy are preserved, which is a real author"s book with a thought -out design.
