In this collection of biographical essays, the famous Russian historian and historiographer Professor V.A. Berdinsky pursued the goal of highlighting live dashes from the life and professional activities of historians of the past. Meanwhile, it’s more interesting for us today and when the historian wrote (dry rustle of his pages), but how he lived and worked. There is little data about this. Nevertheless, in many dozens of brief biographical essays, we will distinguish at least one or two living personality dashes of departed people, in which the eyelids, the craft of a historian, and human nature were reflected. Chronologically, the author turned to the XVIII - the first half of the 20th century, since the assessments and significance of historians of that era were already defended to a large extent
