The book is dedicated to the Batu (Batu) - the Mongol ruler and statesman of the 13th century, the ruler of the ulus Juchi (the Golden Horde), the most outstanding of the grandchildren of Genghis Khan. In the historiographical tradition, an idea of him as a cruel conqueror, ruin and conqueror of Russia developed about him. Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources, the author tries to dispel this stereotype and show that in reality Batu was a much greater than a warrior, but a statesman who laid the foundations of the power of the future Golden Horde, a diplomat who maintained connections with most countries of Europe and Asia, and politician , as a result of a stubborn struggle, which became the most influential person in the Mongol Empire.
