Our grandfather Vasily Zakharovich Zavyalov (1901-1970) left us, his descendants, precious records of his life. Childhood in the Arkhangelsk province, the participation of a teenager in the Par -Tizan detachment in the First World War, the Red Army in the civil war, a short peaceful life without war and work in Novgorod and again the war -Finnish. Unfortunately, this records were interrupted, notebooks with memories of participation in the Great Patriotic War were lost, but we know that he was a worthy of a sash, an otnik of the Fatherland, went through the whole war from the first to the last day. He was restrained and harsh, he did not like to recall and tell.
