Konstantin Alekseevich Korovin - an outstanding Russian border of the XIX -XX centuries. In the art of Korovin, it occupies a special place. A recognized master of painting, a brilliant scenographer, he is also known as an outstanding writer and a talented author of memoir essays.
In 1922, Konstantin Korovin went abroad and then yearned for his abandoned homeland all his life. The circumstances developed for him unsuccessfully - his vision deteriorated, and the master decided to leave the fine art and take up the pen.
The presented collection includes memories of Russia: the author talks about love for nature, about meetings with his famous contemporaries and just interesting people, about old Moscow with its life and morals, about life in the village wilderness, where friends-consultants gathered - Fans of hunting and fishing, reflects on art, about their work: essays written in a vivid, living language are full of genuine humor, under which the real philosophy of life lies. Korovin himself spoke about his literary work as follows: "I write with a tie, as if for some non-existent friends. I am writing from love for people, not ideologically, not teaching anyone, but as an artist.
