The Wehrmacht soldier Wilhelm Lyubbek began military service in 1939 by an ordinary and graduated from the company commander in the rank of Lieutenant in 1945. He fought in Poland, France, in Belgium, in Russia, where he participated in the battles on the Volkhov River, in the corridor Demyansky boiler, near Novgorod and Lake Ladoga. And in 1944, together with his company with exhausting battles, he retreated through the Baltic states in the direction of East Prussia. The author talks in detail about heavy front -line everyday life and details of the soldier’s life, reflects on what Germany was waiting for and what she received as a result of this war. Lyubbek"s memories are a view of the experience of German soldiers on the fronts of World War II surviving witness events.
