The book about the key figure of Soviet art - Arkady Plastov - shows a famous artist from the original angle. In the study of Tatyana Plastova on the material of a serious array of sources - letters of the artist, his notebooks, memoirs, photographs - Arkady Plastov seems to be an artist, an open world, experimenting, subtly sensitive and sharply thinking. The strata includes art from childhood, enchanted by the mural temple painting of his grandfather, observing a wide smear under the dome of the church and live combinations of bright colors. While studying with Dmitry Arkhangelsky in Simbirsk, with Fedor Fedorovsky in Stroganovka and at Appolinaria Vasnetsov and Sergey Volnukhin in the marshmallow of layers growing in an artist with an original look and special attention to rural life. Having studied in Moscow, he leaves for his native saying, where he spends most of his life, working a lot from nature.

An appendix to the book publishes an autobiography of the artist, his article about Martiros Saryan and the text from a sketch to the picture ", the memories of his student Viktor Kiselev, and the Words of Plastov Helia Korzhev are also given here.
The book is illustrated by the little published works of the artist, his graphics, a selection of self-portraits, sketches brought from abroad, as well as photographs of the son of the artist Nikolai Plastov.
