Anna Ioannovna, the Empress of the All-Russian, who ruled the country for ten years (1730-1740), was not lucky in domestic historiography. The descendants did not preserve the good memory of her: her portrait and her deeds lose to the previous and subsequent figures of the ruling dynasty. A lot of unflattering was expressed to her with severe descendants. The famous modern historian E.V. Anisimov took up a very difficult task - to cleanse her portrait from myths and slander and show the genuine Anna Ioannovna in her environment and that Russia, which she is autocratically rules. We can safely say that today this biography is one of the best books about Anna Ioannovna.
