Anatoly Vasilievich Filatov (1935 - 2015) was born in Yelets, grew up in Brest, but most of his life and labor biography was held in Zapolyarny Norilsk. In this largest center of non-ferrous metallurgy of Russia, he went from a simple worker to the general director of the Norilsk Mining and Metallurgical Plant. In difficult years of market reforms, he managed to save the enterprise, turning it into the Norilsk Nickel concern.
